BOAC, Marinduque -- A total of 135 motorists had the opportunity to participate in the Road Safety Seminar with free Theoretical Driving Course spearheaded by the local government of Boac in partnership with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Barangay Ihatub, recently.
Said initiative aims to enhance road safety awareness about transportation laws and regulation and to strengthen the participants’ understanding of proper driving techniques and road safety concepts.
Present in the activity were Mayor Armi Carrion, Vice Mayor Mark Anthony Seño, Municipal Administrator Carlo Jacinto and some members of the Sangguniang Pambayan who graced the opening of the seminar and gave their regards to the participants.
LTO Boac chief Leonardo Gabuna enlightened the motorists on the average road accidents happening globally and gave emphasis to the importance of the activity not just for securing their certificates as mandate of the agency.
Over the course of two days, those who completed the lecture and passed the examination were given the chance to apply for a student permit.
The advocacy program represents a significant step towards bringing the agencies closer to the citizens and spreading knowledge about road safety and is designed to be part of the solution to the ongoing issue of road accidents. (Ana Maria Korina D. Arcilla, MNN)
