BOAC, Marinduque -- The Department of Science and Technology–Mimaropa, through the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) in Marinduque, conducted its orientation for the 2025 Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) on November 14 at the PSTO-Marinduque lobby.
The program opened with preliminary activities, followed by a congratulatory message from Engr. Ameca Fe L. Jinang, Science Research Specialist of PSTO, who represented Provincial S&T Director Bernardo T. Caringal. Engr. Jinang expressed her warm commendation to the qualifiers and their proud parents and guardians, emphasizing the importance of their commitment to science and technology.
Scholarship Coordinator Bernadette Joyce C. Matining then discussed the scholarship’s privileges, policies, and obligations—highlighting the responsibilities shared by both scholars and parents. After the briefing, qualifiers proceeded with the signing of scholarship agreement forms and submission of additional requirements.
This year, Marinduque proudly produced 12 JLSS qualifiers, the highest number among the five provinces in the MIMAROPA Region—an achievement that reflects the province’s strengthened dedication to nurturing future scientists and innovators.
