BOAC, Marinduque -- Marinduque State College wraps up the Boac Quadricentennial Webinar Series on November 30, 2022, Wednesday.
The last episode in this Webinar series was titled “Boac History and Culture Symposium Roundtable Discussion”. The episode had Bryan Viray, Architect Beda Magturo, Patrick Henry Manguera, Dr. Nobleza and Aine Magalang as speakers.
Each one had reiterated the importance of knowing one’s history and culture. Viray delved into the significance of the study, appreciation and preservation of Boac’s heritage. He had raised critical questions in relation to the on-going preservation of Boac’s local heritage, specifically the old buildings and landmarks.
Architect Magturo summarized and evaluated the topics presented by his colleagues in the previous episodes.
Dr. Randy Nobleza shared sources/reference materials published by the late Mike Magalang, with the hope of encouraging the audience to be more curious and expand their knowledge of Boac’s history.
Similarly, Aine Magalang, who was the daughter of Mike Magalang, shared a portion of her father’s speech as a way to encourage others to value history and culture. (Ana Maria Korina D. Arcilla/MNN)
