BOAC, Marinduque -- In the latest record released by the agency, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Boac District conducted a recap of their road safety initiatives done in the year 2022.
Among the reports were a total of 2,359 individuals who received their Free Theoretical Driving Course. There were 603 people who attended their initiative, 588 from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) initiative and 1,168 from the combined forces of the said office and Tesda in partnership with the local government units in the province, Office of the Congressman and the provincial government.
There were also 2,123 participants recorded in the road safety seminars conducted in the whole province which include 363 drivers, 375 youth participants, 1,305 students from different schools and 80 motorcycle riders.
Moreover, the district also cited their review on the information, education and communication (EIC) campaigns and road safety advocacies such as Valentine’s Day EIC Campaign 'Basta’t Responsableng Driver, Sweet Lover', Zoomba: Ratsada sa Ligtas na Kalsada during the Road Safety Month Celebration in collaboration with PNP, hot meals and alcohol distribution to stranded drivers and helpers due to Typhoon Paeng at the Balanacan Port and other initiatives done by their office which benefited 750 drivers.
As a result, there were 5,232 recipients of the said programs which are part of the Safety Advocacy for Everyone, Responsibility of all Drivers (SAFE ROAD) through Unified Learners Education Program (ULEP) and made possible with the assistance of LTO-Mimaropa Regional Office under the leadership of their Acting Regional Director Manuel Betaizar.
