Mogpog Profile

Mogpog is one of the municipalities in the province of Marinduque, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 33,384 people.

 The name “Mogpog” which originated from the word “Maapog”, means abundance of lime or “apog” in local vernacular. Lime was considerably manufactured in Anapog during the Spanish time and was extensively used in the construction of houses and churches in the locality and neighboring towns.

Paadjao Cascades

Paadjao Falls
This a series of gently cascading falls that settles into a 15-foot fall. Hunt for nature- formed bathtubs downstream and enjoy Jacuzzi-like effect. It is an ideal place for picnicking or camping.

Tarug Caves

Located at Barangay Tarug. Three chambered caves in limestone formation, it rises steeply to a little more than 900 feet from the ground. Pinnacle is barely 3 square meters.

Natangco Islet

Our Lady of Biglang Awa in Balanacan
Natangco is an eight-hectare islet with a short stretch of powdery white sand that gradually slopes into the sea. Visitors are advised to bring water and food including tents for nature trips. Marine enthusiasts and scuba divers will find Natangco islet a haven with waters teeming with corals and marine life such as moorish idols, butterfly fishes, and an occasional sightings of manta rays, marlins, etc.

Luzon Datum

The Geodetic Center of the Philippines that was established by the USCGS in 1906 and is point origin of all kinds of surveys in the whole country located inside a proclaimed timberland.
